Compass Level 2/3 Qualifications & Diploma in Physical Education and School Sport

   
Developed in partnership with Active IQ , 1st4Sport Qualifications with the support of AfPE (Association of Physical Education) the COMPASS physical education and school sport suite is a set of qualifications that introduce learners to a number of roles in providing physical education and school sport.

These qualifications develop learners' knowledge and skills to support the delivery of PE and sport activities in a school environment. While they are delivered through the medium of physical education and school sport, the skills may be used by learners aspiring to work in other sporting roles, such as coaching.

Competence-based Qualification:

1st for Sport Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and Sport (QCF) = 54 Credits (283 GLH)

 

Vocational Qualifications:

1st for Sport
Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Learning in Physical Education and School Sport (QCF) = 18 Credits (158 GLH)
Level 3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport (QCF) = 28 Credits (164 GLH)


Active IQ
The aim of Active IQ school sport and physical activity qualifications is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to support the delivery of low risk activities that contribute to a physical education and school sport programme through curriculum-based and/ or extra-curricular activities.

Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport (QCF) = 54 Credits (283 GLH)

What will the qualifications offer your learners?

  • The basis on which to make informed choices about an appropriate career in a physical education and school sport setting

  • An opportunity to develop an understanding of supporting the teaching and learning of physical education and school sport

  • An opportunity to develop physical education and school sport knowledge and skills that can be applied to different educational and school sport related settings, such as coaching

  • An introduction to a career as a physical education teacher

  • An introduction to other opportunities to work as a physical education and school sport professional (e.g. a higher level teaching assistant, teaching assistant, coach, sports development officer, volunteer or leader)
